Ebisujima Island
戎島/Ebisujima
- Yoshino-Kumano National Park
Details
Along the Karekinada coast, visitors can observe pyroclastic rocks here and there. Pyroclastic rocks are often solidified from volcanic ash and other ejected materials. Here, though, magma rose up through sedimentary layers and hardened with fragments of those layers embedded within. The nearby fishing port utilizes the natural protection of the island as a breakwater.
