Details
Survivors of the 1707 Great Hoei Earthquake recorded the damage and how to evacuate when a tsunami comes on this board, in order to pass knowledge on to future generations. The villagers of Takase Village (now Tonda, Shirahama Town) asked the monk of Sodoji Temple to write down their tsunami experience and dedicated it to Asuka Shrine. It is still kept as a Tangible Folk Cultural Property.
