Details
Kuroshima Island and Taijima Island are comprised of conglomerates of pebbles. Tai-jima Island looks like a red snapper (tai) when viewed from the shore, its eye a hole created by wave erosion. Within Kuroshima Island’s rich sub-tropical ecosystem is Kuroshima Shrine; the island itself ecologically supports fish populations, and its animism is worshipped by fishermen as a result.
