Details
Koyazaka Slope is part of the Kumano Kodo, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range”. Located at the southern end of the Ojigahama Beach, the slope passes over a mountain that was formed by volcanic activity about 15 million years ago. From the pass, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the 4 km long Ojigahama Beach and the ocean. They can see stone Buddha statues here and there along the way, telling the story of the local people’s humble faith, and walk down the mossy stone pavement on the far side.
