Butsu-butsu River is Japan’s shortest second class river (classification by Japan’s river law) at just 13.5 meters long. The sound of its spring water is expressed in the onomatopoeia ‘butsu butsu’. Local people have long used the clean water for washing vegetables and other purposes.
