Shihara Coast
志原海岸/Shihara Kaigan
- Yoshino-Kumano National Park
Details
Along this coastline are beautiful shores characterized by their wide beaches and pebbles, and visible sedimentary strata. These strata were formed by alternating layers of sand and mud in a shallow sea, which were then flattened and widened by wave erosion. Traces of marine life that once inhabited these layers are still visible. At the west end of the coast, there is a large sea cave known as Torike Cave.
