Details
Kochijima is an island in the Kozagawa River composed of igneous rock. There is no shrine nor a torii gate on the island, but the island itself is worshipped as a deity. On the day of the Kozagawa Kouchi Festival (nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property), a decorated whale boat cruises around the island, and the Koza Lion Dance is performed on the opposite bank of the river.
