Bentenjima Island and Ojaura Coast
弁天島とお蛇浦/Bentenjima to Ojaura
- Natural Monument (Town Designated)
- Yoshino-Kumano National Park
Details
Extremely hot water flowed through cracks in the rock of Bentenjima Island when it was underground. This made it harder and more resistant to erosion than the surrounding strata, resulting in its striking appearance. Nearby, Ojaura Coast features slightly tilted strata, showcasing dynamically shaped rocks and offering visitors spectacular Pacific Ocean views from its boardwalk.
